Navigating Opportunity Avoiding Disaster
I have been reading an important book, The Fourth Turning is Here. When will the Crisis End? by Neil Howe. Dubbed the Millennial Crisis, it forecasts significant events in the next ten years. This could be any number of things, from global or civil war, economic collapse, to climate disaster, or some unseen event. Who knows, it could bring a miracle that shifts the human consciousness on a planetary scale. To navigate this, I believe that at some point in the next three years, we must choose between the old forces of division and the new forces of cooperation.
Choosing cooperation accomplishes the core tenant of martial arts. Cooperation fosters adaptation, which helps us avoid chaos, conflict, and demise.
Chaos and conflict in our outer environment often foreshadow internal continuity. To accomplish this feat, civilization must avoid reactive behaviors and proactively embrace the meeting place of the heart and soul of each planetary citizen.
In the spirit of the holiday season, let’s unite as a force for good in the world.
