Unlearning the Problems you Create: How Intuition and Perception can Change the World

As a businessman and father I succeeded and failed many times over. Ultimately my failings painfully showed me the way to feel more deeply and intuitively understand what was happening in the unseen rivers of my emotional life. All things return to their source, just like the river flows back to the sea. Through loss I was pushed to follow the pain back to the source of the problem that created it in the first place.

I found that the problem itself wasn’t the issue, but the problem stemmed from the place from where I made a wrong choice. That one choice caused my other problems to arise. I did not need to solve the problem itself per se, but I needed to unlearn the decision that created the problem. When I unlearned that decision, I was able to decide again.

Where can you find the source of all problems and choose differently?

In the mind.

I had chosen a thought system that perceived the world as separate. I began a lifelong quest to end my pain and suffering.

Here is what I discovered:

Thoughts and feelings of love, peace, compassion and intuition are abstract and non-specific. They are neither concrete nor seen.  We experience them as if they were undercurrents of energy just out of sight. Like the river that flows beneath the surface of earth, so does our intuition. Sometimes it comes to the surface as “Aha Moments”. Other times it's a feeling or impulse that makes us stop and reflect. Intuition happens to be on the most subtle level of them all.

Tapping into your intuition requires the highest level of discernment.

The source of intuition can be found in our inner psyche, at the level of our higher soul nature. It flows like a river from the unconscious into our conscious awareness. Along the way into our awareness it comes through the mind. Here we perceive and experience our daily lives.

The mind acts like a filter on the lens of a camera.

To understand this think in terms of “seeing through rose colored glass.” When you remove the filter you can see more clearly.

The mind perceives in a similar fashion. We have  two ways of perceiving the world around us. The egoic mind separates thoughts and feelings into two, seeing and experiencing the world dualistically, you me, man woman, good bad and so on. This creates tension and conflict. This mind has the rose color filter over it.

On the other hand, the mind of a genius sees and experiences everything in a unified way, as wholeness. This mind does not have a filter separating and distorting its perception of the world. It experiences peace and balance.

The problem I faced was not knowing I had a choice. As a result I kept defaulting to the egoic thought system instead of integrating the two. I needed to unlearn everything I had ever known. Now that may seem daunting and complex but it’s not. I did so by returning to the place I first chose the ego thought system, and then removed the obstacles that blocked my return to the source of the problem. Then I was able to tap into my intuition and unleash my genius.

When you choose genius a whole new world will fold. A world full of wonder, solutions, beauty and love.
