Are you paying attention? The Dangers of Living a False Narrative.
The truth hurts. Some years ago, when I was a hard-charging real estate investment banker and investor, I would often gobble tums at sunrise and indulge in tequila at sunset. By all measures, I was living the picture-perfect life; family, friends, house, and so on. I had it all, or so I thought. Everything was nothing. I was not paying attention.
At the pinnacle of my career, my wife and I were at a holiday party, and they had a palm reader stirring up the space. I did not care much for this type of “new age” thinking but I gave it a go. She said one word that radically changed everything, "Separation." What did she mean? I asked myself.
The search for clues and answers began. Long story short, I was not paying attention to my heart and soul's calling. I had taken my eyes off "the ball." Life was happening to me, and as a result, I did not feel well, nor was I particularly happy. The story appeared extraordinary, yet I had forgotten the ordinary. A new story emerged. One that I will always keep an eye on. One that inspires trust, safety, peace, and love. The truth hurts, but a false narrative kills.
Blessings,
